Air brake

The stand alone “Z” air break endorsement course is Ministry-approved and essential for anyone seeking to operate a commercial vehicle with air breaks. These courses are limited to 15 students at a time and are held over 2 consecutive days.  Typically this is a weekend course when offered alone.

The material covered includes:

• Components of the air break system
• Function of the air break
• Air breaks on various vehicle types
• Ontario's legislation and rules that pertain to air-brakes
• Testing requirements and passing standards for Air break systems
• Identification of issues and proper steps for repair

Completion  includes:

• A certificate showcasing successful passing of the written and practical exams
• Assurance in the ability to identify defects according to the Highway Traffic Act
• Assurance in the ability to check brake adjustments

This program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005
